Tuesday Tips – Studio searching

7/01/2014

Today I’m taking you to Denmark to visit photographer Kirstine Mengel and her fabulous new studio. Who wouldn’t want to work from here? It’s got high ceilings and natural light, not to mention lots of space. If you ever find yourself looking for a studio, I’ve asked Kirstine Mengel for some tips on what to look for.

What is the most important thing to look for when you search for a studio?
It is the size of the room, that you can get distance to the background and you have the right hight.

Why did you choose this studio?
Because it is a great room with lots og daylight from the big windows and its very easy to get big furnitures and other products in to the studio through the gateway.

What do you like the most about your new work space?
I like that it is a raw space with lots og daylight that gives me all options for shooting the pictures I like.

How long does it take to create a set like the one we can see below?
I created the set together with stylist Sanne Korsholm and it took about half a day to get it as we wanted.
