Getting ready for Autumn with new Charcoal Bed linen

9/19/2016

One of the easiest ways of changing the mood in your bedroom is by changing the colour of your bed linen. With the lovely 100% pure French bed linen from Soak & Sleep it now feels like Autumn in our bedroom. I think the colour charcoal works really well with our light grey walls. The bedroom is my favourite room in our apartment, as the light changes all the time and makes the room look totally different throughout the day. One minute it’s nice and bright and then the next it’s dark and moody. In fact you can see this really well in my photos.

The washed linen are nice and soft and I’m sure they’ll be even softer after being washed a few times. I actually have soft pink pillow cases too, so I can mix the sheets. I really like that idea.

You can find the gorgeous linen bedspread here. It’s handquilted and I have it in sandstone. I chose this colour as it will go well with both dark, moody colours as well as lighter ones. I think it looks great with the charcoal bed linen. Yes, I do change our bedroom a lot, so who knows if the wall colour might change again soon. For a couple of year at least, our besdroom has had green plants in it. They come and go as I move them from one room to another, mostly to find out where they prefer to be, but also because I need them for photos in other spaces. Green plants are now no longer trendy, did you know that? We learned all about that in Munich during Gudy Herder‘s Trend lecture. Green plants are past being a trend and are here to stay! I think that’s really nice to hear and I also feel like bloggers have been a big part of making this happen, not to mention Urban Jungle Bloggers of course! I’m so pleased to have recently bought a fiddle leaf fig tree and a pilea (Chinese Money plant). They’ve both been on my wishlist for a while.

Do you change your decor with the seasons? It’s been quite cold here, so I’m in the mood for scented candles, cups of tea and blankets!
