AD | Bloom Botanica a timeless collection by Georg Jensen

As a part of a long term collaboration with Georg Jensen, I’ve spent the last few weeks living with and styling part of the beautiful new timeless Bloom Botanica collection in my home. As the days slowly lengthen, I’ve loved the way they’ve played with the light and caught my attention.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the original and ever-popular Bloom collection, this new iteration extends to vases and candleholders. Danish designer Helle Damekjaer’s work proved so popular that it earned itself a place at MOMA in NYC. And in true Georg Jensen fashion, this collection looks at home in any context, though I think it looks particularly striking amongst some of my favourite pieces of Nordic furniture.

“Inspired by the beauty of petals and flower buds, Helle Damkjær’s organic shaped fruit bowls, vases and candle holders have a contemporary and sculptural quality and at the same time bring a touch of springtime optimism into the home.” – Georg Jensen.

The minimal, organic shapes are crafted from mirror-polished stainless steel. The shape, inspired by the moment a flower bud opens, is perfect for Spring, but I think it works well all year round. The vase also looks like a work of art empty. It’s a versatile collection that is also timeless, perhaps what Georg Jensen is best known for.

There’s a real sense of open, fluid motion within the Bloom Botanica collection. Walking past an arrangement of grasses in one of the vases on my way to the kitchen or lighting a tealight in the evening has really helped lift my mood. Here’s to warmer days and the chance to bring in cut flowers from the garden again.

Prices start from £60.00.
