I think the Bernadotte collection by Georg Jensen is one of those timeless collection that can be loved for generations. The Scandinavian design is both classic and minimal at the same time. This beautifully crafted silver and stainless steel tableware is perfect for those special occasions. I had lots of fun styling a part of the beautiful collection in my home.
‘The first Bernadotte pieces were launched back in 1931, designed by Swedish Prince Sigvard Bernadotte. He is one of the most popular and successful collaborators in the history of Georg Jensen, and his sleek and sparingly-decorated style has helped modernise the silver industry.’
The large Bernadotte vase is featured in these photos, but it also comes in a medium size. The rifled lines makes this a perfect minimal vase. It looks beautiful with a big bouquet of flowers as well as with one flower on it’s own.
The stylish and popular Bernadotte Thermo jug is a great example of bringing together the beauty of classic Scandinavian design and the practicality of contemporary times. Originally conceived by royal Prince Sigvard Bernadotte in 1938 as a beautiful but straightforward jug, the design has been transformed into a modern vacuum thermos. Now made entirely from stainless steel, it has a shatterproof inner shell that keeps fluids warm or cold for up to 6 hours.
I’m sure you’ll agree with me when I say that all the pieces from the Bernadotte collection are beautiful. I’ve styled the collection with COBRA thermo cups. They not only have a great shape, they’re also lovely to drink from and don’t get hot at all.
